The CBX250S was a lighter, cheaper sports single slotted between the CBX125F and the CBX250RS in Japan. Instead of the RS's DOHC unit it used a near-square SOHC four-valve engine, and it wore a rocket-style half fairing and Comstar wheels, weighing about 15 kg less than the RS. Weak sales against racer replicas ended it after 1987.
